Exports by ACI-registered industries up 38pct in January
The value of exports by firms and industries registered with the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) increased by 38 percent in January to a total of JD665 million.
According to figures published Sunday by the ACI, the value of exports in the same month of 2022 stood at JD483 million.
Exports of all ten industrial sectors recorded growth during January, with the exception of the construction industries sector, which recorded a decline of 14 percent.
Figures released by the chamber showed that India, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Iraq accounted for more than half of the month's exports, totaling JD368 million.
ACI exports included mining industries, with a value of JD256 million, chemical and cosmetic products with JD128 million, and engineering, information technology, and electricity services with JD81 million.
Other exports, such as food, agricultural, and livestock industries stood at JD69 million, leather and garment at JD34 million, medical equipment at JD31 million, packaging, paper, and office supplies at JD30 million, plastic and rubber at JD26 million, and wood and furniture industries at JD1.4 million.
