$3.4 billion in remittances from Jordanian expatriates in 2022
The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) issued preliminary data showing an increase in remittances of workers abroad during December 2022, by 6.7%, to reach $319.3 million (JD226.4 million), compared to the same month of 2021.
In light of this, workers' remittances recorded during 2022 an increase of 1.5%, amounting to $3,452.5 million (JD2,447.8 million) compared to 2021, constituting 93.1% of its level achieved during 2019 (pre-pandemic).
