Direction to establish 50 grain containers in Jordan
Jordan has received about $200 million in financing from the Islamic Development Bank (ISDB) to cover the costs of the emergency food security project, according to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply.
Jordan intends to allocate part of this financing to a component that includes paying sums for the purchase of commodities and related services to be supplied within the framework of this project, in addition to the fact that the project includes the purchase of 420,000 tons of wheat and 120,000 tons of barley, which will be offered through the Jordanian national procedures.
The second component includes expanding strategic storage capabilities by establishing 50 grain containers; according to an open national competition in accordance with the instructions for purchasing goods and works in projects funded by ISDB, April 2019.
Contracts financed by the ISDB are provided through the procedures specified in the instructions for the purchase of goods, works and/or related services in projects financed by the Islamic Development Bank “April 2019” and this process is opened to all qualified bidders in accordance with the instructions.
