Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh held meetings on Wednesday, within the framework of his participation in the work of the World Economic Forum 'Davos' 2023, which is currently being held in Davos, Switzerland, with political and economic leaders, chairmen of boards of directors of major international institutions, businessmen, and regional and international organizations.
PM met with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) PM, Masrour Barzani, stressing the strength of the Jordanian-Iraqi brotherly relations, and his keenness to strengthen them in various fields.
Khasawneh pointed out that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, stands by Iraq and its people in achieving its aspirations for a prosperous future.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zina Touqan, they discussed prospects for cooperation between Jordan and the Kurdistan region, and ways to expand it in all fields, especially economic ones.
The sides discussed during the meeting, investment opportunities and fields available in Jordan and the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and encouraged the private sector on both sides to establish investment projects that benefit both sides.
PM also held a meeting with the Director General - Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ), Mohammed Al Suwaydi.
Khasawneh affirmed Jordan's welcome to more Emirati investments in the Kingdom, and the government's keenness to follow up on the completion of the investment projects implemented by the Fund in Jordan and to remove any obstacles that hinder their implementation.
PM also met Indian businessman Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Board and founder of the Adani Group, one of the largest international companies.
During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of Finance Muhammad Issis, PM presented the attractive investment environment in the Kingdom, which aims to attract more foreign investments and enable existing investments, stressing the welcome of the group's investments in the major projects that Jordan intends to implement.
He expressed Jordan's readiness to be a regional center for launching the group's business and investments in the region's markets.
For his part, Adani affirmed his group's interest in investing in Jordan in more than one sector, in light of the availability of promising prospects for investment.
