Representative of the communication and information technology sector in Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Haitham Rawajbeh, confirmed that the sector proved an important presence last year.
Rawajbeh said in a statement on Tuesday, that the sector's companies were able during the past year to achieve further development and build new capabilities for their business.
He added that many countries in the region are relying on Jordan to implement their programs related to the digital transformation of their commercial and service sectors, due to the ability of Jordanian companies to provide all solutions related to this aspect.
Rawajbeh indicated that Jordanian companies export their services in the field of software to many Arab and foreign countries, which contributed to enhancing its presence and competitiveness in the export markets, pointing to the presence of foreign and international companies that opened offices in the Kingdom to benefit from local expertise and competencies to export their business.
He pointed out that coordination between companies in the communications and information technology sector will increase in the coming period in all governorates of the Kingdom and the JCC, in addition to building a database and a special platform for the sector, which is an important tributary to the national economy and job creation.
He called for accelerating 5G services, due to its importance in advancing the national economy, enhancing its competitiveness, attracting more investments, encouraging leadership and innovation, and increasing employment opportunities.
