The Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) and a Kenyan delegation on Wednesday discussed investment and trade exchange in a meeting that brought together 40 Jordanian companies from several sectors.
The Kenyan delegation is comprised sectors of trade, agriculture, logistic services, project financing, real estate, employment, tourism, and investment.
According to a JCI statement, Board Member Ahmad Al-Bess urged further cooperation to benefit private sector companies, promote their products, and expand their network.
The attendees highlighted the Jordanian industry sector's contribution to the economy, producing 1,500 diverse products with revenues of over $25 billion annually, and discussed export opportunities to the Kenyan market.
They added that Jordanian exports to Kenya are only $15 million a year due to unpromoted and untapped opportunities for exporting fertilizers and drugs.
National exports to Kenya amounted to some $5.2 million in 2022's January-September period, up a major 67 percent compared to figures in the same period of 2021.
