Jordanian-Saudi ministerial meetings on Monday were held to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The meetings were held as part of Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh's working visit with a ministerial delegation, where he will meet with Saudi senior officials.
On the Jordanian side, the meetings included Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernisation, Nasser Shraideh, Minister of Water and Irrigation, Muhammad Al-Najjar, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, Minister of Finance, Muhammad Al-Ississ, and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, and Minister of Labor, Yusef Al-Shamali.
On the Saudi side, the meetings also included Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media Majid Al-Qasabi, and Minister of Finance Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan.
The meetings covered deep-rooted, fraternal and strategic ties between the two countries, under the direct and continuous guidance of both Kingdom's leaderships.
The two sides also reaffirmed their joint keenness to enhance cooperation and bilateral integration, and to leverage available and joint opportunities in various fields in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples.
The meetings discussed a number of proposed issues, files and projects that would deepen bilateral cooperation in economic, investment, trade, energy, water, transportation and other fields.
The two sides agreed to hold meetings of the joint Jordanian-Saudi committee during the first quarter of next year, to come up with decisions and agreements that would translate the proposals being studied by the two sides into reality, while emphasizing on continuing communication, coordination and follow-up on all common issues and files, and overcoming any obstacles or hurdles immediately and without waiting for holding the committee meetings.
'Challenges that the world faced during the past years due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the impacts of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis require strengthening cooperation and integration between countries in various fields', Minister Shraideh said in the meeting.
He lauded Saudi Arabia's stances that have always supported Jordan. 'We are keen to deepen bilateral cooperation between us in various fields.'
He added that Jordan was able to maintain its financial and monetary stability despite all challenges, which was evident by the success of the fifth review of the International Monetary Fund, maintaining low rates of inflation compared to countries in the region and the world, and the high credit rating of the Kingdom on global financial indicators.
Shraideh highlighted key features of Jordan's economic modernisation vision and its structural reform plan, which would contribute to addressing economic challenges and reflect positively on various sectors and the investment environment in the Kingdom.
'We hope that this visit and the continuous and permanent meetings and dialogues between the two brotherly countries at all levels would contribute to enhancing joint cooperation and increasing integration in a way that serves both Kingdom's higher interests and meets the aspirations of our wise leaderships and our two brotherly peoples,' Shraideh concluded.
Minister Al-Jasser, in turn, said that the most important thing that distinguishes Jordan is its human competencies, and this is the most important resource that nations rely on to build their civilizations.
'We will not hesitate in supporting Jordan and deepening our brotherly relations of cooperation' he stressed.
