Cabinet ups financial allocations for Zaha Cultural Centers
A Cabinet session, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, on Sunday approved an increase in financial allocations for Zaha Cultural Centers by JD200,000 annually, as part of Ministry of Local Administration's budget.
The decision aims to align with the surge in Zaha Cultural Centers' branches and seeks to increase number of its training programmes, activities and awareness services implemented to meet the local community's needs to reach 1,200 nationwide.
The step also aims to increase job opportunities for citizens in the governorates by approximately 350 vacancies.
The Cabinet also decided to approve appointment of 172 people with difficult humanitarian conditions from Civil Service Bureau (CSB)'s lists and exclude appointees from the decision to stop recruitment.
As for the type of recruitment, the decision appointed 33 people in the third category jobs suffering special and urgent conditions, 66 others filled positions in the first and second categories, and 9 others from households with multiple or severe disabilities, while 64 applicants were eligible to get appointed by virtue of their applications countrywide.
On the other hand, the Council of Ministers decided to relieve Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) Hussein Laboun, and appoint Ziyad Jamil Saaida as the commission's new head.
