JPMC, Indonesian firms explore potential NPK plant in Aqaba
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) Muhammad Thuneibat on Wednesday met with a delegation comprising representatives of public and private Indonesian companies to discuss potential investments and joint ventures in the phosphate and fertilizer industries.
The Indonesian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of State Owned Enterprises Pahala Mansury.
The meeting, attended by the CEO of JPMC Abdulwahab Rawad, and Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan Ade Padmo Sarwono, discussed the prospects of establishing a joint plant in the city of Aqaba to produce 500,000 tons of the (NPK) fertilizer using phosphate raw materials supplied by JPMC to meet the market's needs in Indonesia.
In addition to increasing Indonesian imports of Jordanian phosphate, the Indonesian Deputy Minister of State Owned Enterprises stated that the purpose of the visit is to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Indonesian companies and the JPMC and to explore potential investment opportunities.
