UNA-OIC observes International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) observed on Tuesday the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
The UNA called on the free countries and peoples of the world to continue their solidarity with the Palestinians until the achievement of their legitimate rights in accordance with the resolutions of the international legitimacy, the Arab peace initiative, human rights principles, and the United Nations charter.
In a statement on this occasion, the General Supervisor of the Official Media in Palestine, Minster Ahmed Assaf, warned of the seriousness of the continuation of settlement policies, land confiscation, and property destruction.
He indicated that the Palestinian leadership struggles on every level, whether political, diplomatic, or legal, to regain our people's rights, condemn the Israeli occupation and strive to hold Israel accountable for its crimes against Palestinian people.
For his part, the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Mahir Al-Karaki, stressed that the observance of this day, which takes place 74 years after the Nakba of 1948, and 55 years after the occupation of 1967, comes to remind the world and free peoples of the systematic attacks and violations Palestinian people have suffered all these years at the hands of the Israeli occupation authorities.
UNA Acting Director-General, Muhammad Al-Yami, called on the member news agencies to participate in the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in order to draw the attention of the international community to the justice of the Palestinian cause, strive to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, and expose the crimes committed by the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people.
