Investment minister lays cornerstone of garment factory in Karak
Minister of Investment Kholoud Saqqaf on Monday laid the cornerstone of a garment factory in the southern Karak government, which she said will provide 1,550 job opportunities.
Within plans to enable the investor, Saqqaf said the ministry will support and follow up on the implementation of the project and any other existing or new ventures.
The ministry's plans, she stressed, are in line with the Economic Modernization Vision to reduce poverty and unemployment, noting that an investment law was recently passed to keep pace with the global practices, enable existing investments and attract new capital.
For his part, Chairman of Classic Fashion Apparel Industry Sanal Kumar said the factory, with branches across the Kingdom, will soon be up and running, adding that he was encouraged by the country's investment environment and the authorities' support to open more branches.
