Secretary-General of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Jihad Mahamid, on Wednesday discussed with Thai Ambassador to Jordan, Supark Prongthura, ways to enhance joint cooperation prospects in the water field.
Mahamid said the meeting aims to enhance cooperation and coordination in the artificial rainfall field, using modern technology to manage flash floods, developing an early warning system and boosting management of Jordan's water resources, in a way that ensures their sustainability and benefit from Thai expertise in this area by training and raising Jordanian workers' efficiency in the water sector.
Mahamid indicated that the two sides agreed to set up a mechanism to implement programs and sign memoranda of understanding (MoU) aimed to integrate the latest technology to manage water resources, lauding Thai government's role, continuous cooperation and support for Jordan's water sector.
For his part, the Thai envoy expressed his country's desire to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the water sector and find ways to address its current challenges.
