A total of eleven Jordanian companies from the food industries sector on Saturday kicked off participation in the SIAL International Food Exhibition in Paris, the world's largest professional meeting in the food sector.
The companies, specializing in sweets, chocolate, spices, nuts and beverages, are showcasing their products through the Jordan Exporters Association (JEA).
Emphasizing the importance of the event, JEA President Ahmad Khudari said the expo represents an opportunity for Jordanian companies to get acquainted with new trading partners around the world and access promising markets.
'Through Jordan’s 150-square-meter pavilion, the 5-day exhibition allows visitors from European countries to learn about local food products,' he said, noting that France is a gateway for Jordanian industrial products to cross into the African markets.
Occurring every two years, SIAL is a global food event featuring the world’s leading retail and food service buyers in one location. It attracts over 310,000 visitors from Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
