The Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Thursday discovered 14 illegal fixtures on waterlines in Umm al-Rasas / al-Mushairfa area, south of Amman, pumping hundreds of cubic meters of water daily, which affects water quotas and quantities in the area.
In a statement, the ministry said its campaign to uncover water theft cases is implemented in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate (PSD) and aims to enhance monitoring measures over water sources in all Kingdom's regions.
The ministry said illegal fixtures were removed, stressing continued efforts by implementing the law provisions to prevent attacks on water sources countrywide.
