15 companies handed approvals for basin investment projects in Al Hammad, Sarhan
Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat on Tuesday handed over approvals to 15 companies for the investment project in Al Hammad and Sarhan basins, including approvals for solvency, technical studies and employment conditions for the local community.
During a press conference, Hneifat said that the ministry has announced the project and has been receiving applications through the Department of Lands and Survey, estimating the value of total investments at JD50 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister noted that the investment will provide 1,000 permanent jobs and 2,500 temporary jobs and will cover deficit crops that the local market needs and increase the amounts of exported crops. He added that the total investment area reaches some 36,000 dunums through agreements covering areas spanning between 1,000 and 3,300 dunums.
