JMPC signs MoU to establish pure phosphoric acid plant in Aqaba
The Jordanian Phosphate Mines Company (JMPC) and Munir Sukhtian Trading Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a plant in port city of Aqaba, to produce 20,000 tonnes of pure phosphoric acid tech grade, using modern and advanced technology to be used in food industries.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, JMPC's Chairman, Mohammad Thneibat, who signed the MoU, stressed the agreement's importance, which reflects partnership among various national institutions and companies to contribute to strengthening efforts to achieve Jordan's development in various fields.
The MoU would have a 'positive and significant' impact on Jordan's food industry sector, in a way that contributes to achieving its food security, Thneibat said.
Voicing JMPC's keenness to contribute to supporting national efforts to achieve economic development, he pointed to its 'great' achievements in terms of production, sales and profits, as well as its partnerships with many national and global companies, its plans to shift towards manufacturing industries, and its position in the global phosphate market.
Meanwhile, Munir Sukhtian Trading Group Chairman, Nidal Sukhtian, lauded JPMC's achievements, adding the MoU comes within the framework of the Group's keenness to integrate modern technology in its operations and activities, in cooperation with leading national companies.
The two sides, he announced, agreed on more joint projects that will be implemented in the near future.
