Awamleh, Swedish ambassador talk cooperation on human rights
Government Coordinator for Human Rights at the Prime Ministry Nathir Awamleh and Sweden's Ambassador to Jordan Alexandra Rydmark on Thursday discussed means to enhance cooperation between the sides in the human rights field.
Awamleh praised this visit that aims to exchange expertise and know-how alongside enhancing cooperation between the kingdoms in all human rights fields. He noted that Sweden is among the top countries that support human rights, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also reviewed tasks of the human rights office at the Prime Ministry, where the comprehensive national human rights plan was prepared along with its revisions in a way that conforms to the Sustainable Development Goals and the Universal Periodic Review and its 149 recommendations.
Rydmark reviewed the interests of Sweden’s foreign policy, such as disarmament, climate change and sustainability, gender equality, supporting women, and the application of democracy and human rights.
