Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Wednesday, met Nebraska's Secretary of State, Robert Evenn, and his accompanying trade delegation, in the presence of Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) President, Na'el Kabariti.

The meeting went over ways to enhance cooperation relations, especially in the economic, commercial, investment, agricultural and educational fields, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Safadi stressed the 'deep-rooted, strong' Jordanian-American strategic partnership relations, lauding the U.S. assistance provided to the Kingdom to support its development process.

Safadi briefed the delegation on the steps taken by the Kingdom to improve economic performance, raise competitiveness, stimulate investment and launch 'wider' private sector's role.

For their part, the U.S. delegation said the Kingdom is a 'strategic' partner of the United States, adding that Nebraska wants to build an 'effective' economic partnership with Jordan and activate cooperation programs in multiple sectors, including agriculture, water and education fields.

The delegation noted this joint cooperation also covers exchanging technical expertise and increasing cooperation at the academic level from Jordanian universities with University of Nebraska.
