The number of the Kingdom's pharmacuetical varieties exported has increased by 18 percent in 2021 compared to 2020, according to statistics by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
FDA Director-General Nizar Mheidat said on Sunday that the Kingdom exported in 2021 more than 2,294 types of locally-produced drugs, with a total value of JD500,000 million.
Antibiotics, he noted, topped the list of exported drugs, in terms of quantity, while Immunosuppressants came first in a list based on the value of the medicine.
Mheidat added that the FDA seeks to prop up national drug exports in 2022 under a strategic plan in coordination with officials in the sector.
