The Cabinet on Wednesday approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), under which the ASEZA was authorised to license and monitor tourist camps outside the Wadi Rum Nature Reserve, Al Disah region.
The approval is meant to coordinate efforts, simplify procedures, support investment, improve tourism services in and outside Wadi Rum, as well as to unify the management authority outside the Wadi Rum Nature Reserve, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
