RSCN backs investments to improve Jordanians' living conditions
The Royal Society for The Conservation of Nature (RSCN) ruled out rejection to any investment aimed at improving Jordanians' living conditions.
In a statement on Sunday, the RSCN called on the concerned authorities to contact it on future plans to extract copper from Dana Biosphere Reserve (BR), the Kingdom's largest nature reserve, located south-central Jordan.
The RSCN has been improving the living conditions of some 600 families from the local community annually worth about JD2,370 million from Dana Biosphere Reserve, said the statement.
Dana Biosphere Reserve is one of the most important global tourist destinations, and the RSCN is working to develop its eco-tourism through several plans scheduled to be implemented, added the statement.
