The Qatari market has begun importing new types of Jordanian fruits and vegetables that were not imported during the last period, due to the availability of these products locally.
Traders and importers of foodstuffs in Qatar told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the shortage of local production of some types of vegetables and fruits pushed Qatari traders to import these varieties from the Jordanian market to meet the demand of local market, noting that these kinds include cucumbers, cauliflower, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, watermelons, melons, figs, aloes, green onions, peppers of all kinds, and herbs such as mint, coriander, parsley.
They added that the import of vegetables and fruits from Jordan is mostly carried out through air transport, which helps in bringing these varieties to Qatar in fresh and excellent condition, indicating that Jordanian vegetables and fruits are among the best products imported to the Qatari market.
