Police Saturday arrested two men accused of kidnapping and robbing a taxi driver in the Balqa governorate, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
The PSD said the police had started investigating the case, and they were able to identify the two suspects and their whereabouts and take them into custody.
It highlighted the two suspects had tried their best to cover their track and leave no evidence implicating them; however, the police were able to arrest them, who confessed to the crime.
The police had received a report of a traffic incident in Balqa in which a driver and a passenger involved fled the scene on foot. The victim was found in the car boot after.
The victim's condition was described as 'moderate.'
The victim was driving his taxi in the Russeifa city in Zarqa when the two suspects hailed him and got into the car, only to assault and rob him. He was thrown in the car boot after the robbery.
