Princess Sumaya calls for enhancing cooperation in scientific research fields
HRH Princess Sumaya, president of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), on Wednesday highlighted the importance of cooperation in scientific fields at the national level to realise comprehensive and sustainable development.
During the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the RSS and Mutah University, Princess Sumaya praised the society’s role in serving the Kingdom and its efforts to become a national centre for applied scientific research, mainly in the fields of water, environment, communication, ICT and renewable energy.
She also called for increasing cooperation to attract more national and international researchers to the RSS. The princess urged students and researchers at Mutah University to benefit from RSS’ facilities to enhance their capabilities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Princess Sumaya noted that the memo paves way for the two sides to exchange expertise and enhance cooperation through conducting joint scientific research.
President of the Mutah University Arafat Awajan said the memo is part of scientific cooperation between the two sides and aims to develop joint academic and research programmes in the fields of energy, water, environment and applied research projects in data, physics and artificial intelligence.
The MoU allows both parties to use each other’s facilities to conduct joint development and research projects, organise national and international conferences and workshops, and cooperate in other agreed upon fields.
