Interior Minister, Mazen Faraiah, discussed Saturday, with the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan, Haider Al-Athari, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in the security and economic fields, in addition to a host of issues related to the Iraqi community residing in Amman.
The minister said the government maintains 'bridges of cooperation' with Iraq in all fields under direct Royal directives to the 'fullest' extent to achieve common interests.
The minister also expressed 'full' readiness to overcome any obstacles facing Iraqis' entry into and residence in the Kingdom, in accordance with the applicable regulations and instructions.
The Iraqi envoy, for his part, referred to some issues related to the Iraqi community in Amman, expressing his country's appreciation for Jordan's cooperation in this regard, and the facilitations it provides to Iraqis coming to and residing in the Kingdom.
Stressing the need to enhance joint cooperation areas, the diplomat praised the level of security, stability and the 'attractive' investment environment in the Kingdom.
At the end of the meeting, the two officials agreed to maintain joint coordination and consultation on issues that serve common interests.
