Four companies technically eligible to transport Iraqi crude oil to Jordan
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced the technically-qualified companies to bid for transporting Iraqi crude oil from its loading site to Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company Ltd (JPRC) in central Zarqa governorate.
According to the ministry's website, a special procurement committee is scheduled to open the financial tenders on June 30.
The ministry had earlier floated a tender to transport Iraqi crude oil to the JPRC site in Zarqa, at a rate of 10,000 barrels per day.
To ensure transparency, the ministry is in charge of delivering Iraqi crude oil from the designated loading site to JPRC, according to the memorandum of understanding signed between Jordan and Iraq, under which the Kingdom imports about 10,000 barrels of oil per day by land.
