The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) announced on Wednesday, that trucks will be denied entry, starting mid-June, unless their drivers have at least received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
In a press statement, the ASEZA Chairman, Nayef Bakhit, said this decision comes within the national efforts to limit the disease's spread and the comprehensive plan launched to transform the Aqaba region into 'a pandemic-free area' in all its sectors, including the land transport sector and its services.
Bakhit called on transport companies and freight drivers coming to the port city of Aqaba to register on the Ministry of Health's Covid-19 vaccination platform, as part of the government's plan aimed at achieving a safe summer.
