The Senate on Monday returned amendments to the Audit Bureau Law to the Lower House.
The Upper Chamber, during its previous session, referred the draft law to a joint committee for further study after senators had differing views regarding the immunity of the president of the Audit Bureau and giving him the rank of a minister, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The senators disagreed with deputies over the immunity of the Audit Bureau president through limiting the immunity to only “crimes arising from his post” in a way that prevents the presidents from apprehension and trial for these crimes.
