The new infections comprised 244 cases in the capital, Amman, 160 in Karak, 109 in Zarqa, 86in Irbid, including 17 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 55 in Ma'an, including 12 in southern region of Petra, 52 in Mafraq, 49 in Balqa, 33 in Tafileh, 16 in Aqaba, 15 in Jerash, 14 in Ajloun, and 9 in Madaba, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The statement added that there are currently 10, 862 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.
The number of hospitalizations today stood at 67, while 49 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.
According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded on Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 418, bringing the total to 712,929 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 586.
The statement also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 24%, 22%, and 10%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.
With regard to testing, 20,491 tests were conducted Wednesday, 4.11 percent of which were positive.
Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,182,844, the joint statement noted.
