The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, on Friday, condemned the Israeli police along with the special forces for storming Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Haram Al Sharif compound and attacking worshippers.
The ministry spokesperson Defaillah al-Fayez said such actions undermine the ceasefire that was reached after international efforts to halt the escalation in the Palestinian territories.
He called on Israel, as the occupying power, to adhere to its obligations, stop the attacks on the Al Aqsa Mosque and worshippers and respect the legal and historical status quo in holy city of Jerusalem.
Al-Fayez said the success of the efforts to reach a ceasefire and ending the aggression on Gaza is a positive and necessary step, and Israel must abide by it and stop the provocations and escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He praised the Egyptian and Qatari efforts in reaching the ceasefire in the Palestinian lands, as well as the United States.
