38,661 teachers received first dose of Covid-19 vaccine so far
Some 9,455 teachers countrywide have received on Wednesday, the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total number of jab recipients from the teaching staff to 38,661 so far.
In a press statement, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Najwa Qubeilat, said the national campaign to vaccinate teachers, launched by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) on May 4th, is 'proceeding as scheduled' nationwide, amid a 'large' turnout of teachers, who registered on the gov't platform to receive the vaccine.
Stressing the importance of the teacher immunization drive, she said this effort would help achieve safe return to schools for Jordan's next academic year, calling on all teachers to register on the gov't platform designed for this purpose.
