Media minister meets representatives of main daily newspapers
Minister of State for Media Affairs Sakher Dudin on Monday highlighted the importance of supporting dailies and increasing the volume of their revenues to ensure their sustainability.
Chairing a meeting, attended by representatives of the main daily newspapers, the Jordan Press Association and relevant government departments, Dudin stressed the importance of working in a participatory manner to reach comprehensive solutions rather than temporary ones, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister noted that among the possible solutions in the medium term is to create a fund to support media content, to be established in partnership between the public and private sectors. For their part, attendees discussed the challenges related to marketing and advertising, and the measures that can be implemented to increase the revenues of newspapers through government and judicial advertisements.
