Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company reports JD20.1 million in Q1 of 2021
The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JOPT) recorded net profits of JD20.1 million in the first three months of 2021, according to preliminary financial data.
In a statement on Sunday, JOPT's profit from the refining business and cooking gas cylinders supply stood at JD12.9 million, while the lubricants business grossed JD1.6 million. The company's Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary fully owned by the refinery, netted JD5.6 million.
The company's results showed improvement, the statement added, after the recovery of the crude oil and oil derivatives prices as a result of the producing countries cutting down their production.
The company underlined its ability to compensate the losses sustained in 2020, noting that the sales of some materials are still affected in terms of quantity and value, especially jet fuel.
