King of Spain congratulates Jordan on centennial anniversary
King of Spain, Felipe VI, congratulated His Majesty King Abdullah, the Hashemite family, the people and the Jordanian government on the Centenary Anniversary of the founding of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
In a video message - via YouTube - King Felipe commended the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
King Felipe recalled the historic visit of His Majesty King Abdullah I to Spain in 1949, when the two countries signed the Cooperation and Friendship Agreement, which deepened the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two friendly Kingdoms.
King Felipe said, 'King Abdullah II and I believe in the importance of working closely together, as well as with many other countries and international institutions, in order to achieve lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region.'
He added, 'I am pleased on this occasion to express the respect and admiration that Spain has for Jordan, especially since Jordan is a true example of moderation and dialogue in a very important region in the world order, led by the Hashemite family represented by historical and revered personalities such as the late King Hussein.'
King Felipe concluded his message by extended his wishes for Jordan for constant security, stability and prosperity, and for bilateral relations between Jordan and Spain to witness further development and exchange between the governments and peoples of the two countries, and for everyone to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic that the whole world is suffering from.
