An earthquake measuring 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale was recoded on Wednesday at 4:30am in the Mediterranean Sea, north of the Egyptian city of Marsa Matruh, the Jordanian Seismological Observatory (JSO) said.
In a statement, JSO director Ghassan Sweidan stated that the quake struck 800 kilometers west of Amman and 225 km north of Marsa Matruh, and was not felt by the Kingdom's residents.
