The Association of Banks in Jordan (ABJ) said the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) has directed banks operating in the Kingdom to defer payment of individual loan installments for next April.
In a CBJ circular, the ABJ said the loan deferral decision was taken after coordination and consultation among the association's member banks.
The ABJ noted banks agreed to postpone payment of individuals' loan installments during the month of Ramadan, as an initiative to alleviate citizens' burdens in the holy month of fasting, according to its press statement issued Wednesday.
