The new infections comprised 3, 627 cases in the capital, Amman, 1, 383 in Zarqa, 1, 375 in Irbid, including 107 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 664 in Balqa, 391 in Aqaba, 338 in Mafraq, 310 in Karak, 265 in Ajloun, 224 in Madaba, 196 in Jerash, 181 in Tafielh, and 176 in Ma'an , including 38 in Petra region, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The statement added that there are currently 100, 488 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.
The number of hospitalizations today stood at 514, while 374 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.
According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 8, 300, bringing the total to 456,188 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 3, 372.
The statement also indicated that occupancy of the total ICU bed capacity has hit 72%.
With regard to testing, 48,151 tests were conducted Wednesday, 18.96 percent of which were positive.
Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 5,617,586, the joint statement noted.
