Breaking down Monday's tally, the MoH said that 4,787 cases were recorded in Amman, 1,078, 871 in Zarqa, 766 in Balqa, 368 in Aqaba, 363 in Madaba, 340 in Karak, 303 in Mafraq, 198 in Tafilah, 181 in Ajloun, 87 in Maan and 75 in Jerash.
The MoH said in a press conference in the Prime Ministry that some 328 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 491 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 2,844.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 79,720, it added.
More than 401,319 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.
In the government's efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus, health authorities conducted some 48,368 tests, about 20 percent of which came back positive, as the total number of tests tops 5.22 million.
