House to form fact-finding committee to investigate Salt Hospital incident
The Lower House, during an emergency session, chaired by its Speaker Abdel Moneim Awdat, and attended by Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, and the Cabinet members, has decided to form a parliamentary fact-finding committee into the tragedy of the new Salt Governmental Hospital, which left 7 patients dead by an oxygen outage.
Speaking at the oversight session, Awdat said most lawmakers supported the proposal to form a parliamentary fact-finding panel to find out causes behind the tragedy and identify responsibilities.
Voicing their stance on the deadly incident, several lawmakers 'grilled' the government, while others asked the Cabinet to assume its moral, political responsibility and submit its resignation.
