Sri Lankan ambassador meets with Zarqa Chamber of Commerce chief
Chairman of the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce Hussein Shuraim on Monday met with Sri Lankan Ambassador to Jordan Shanika Dissanayake and discussed ways to bolster trade and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Shuraim encouraged business owners in Sri Lanka to visit Jordan and check economic opportunities available in a number of sectors, expressing the willingness of the commercial sector to expand its imports from Sri Lanka, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Sri Lankan ambassador said that there are untapped potentials for trade and economic relations between Jordan and Sri Lanka, calling for promoting tourism between the two countries.
She also pointed to the Sri Lankan investments in Jordan, especially in the clothing sector, amounting to $32 million.
