Princess Ghida takes part in virtual World Cancer Day conference
HRH Princess Ghida Talal, chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Centre, on Sunday attended the “Redefining cancer protection and control during the COVID-19 pandemic” conference held to mark World Cancer Day.
During the virtual event, the princess said that the fight against cancer is a challenge, but confronting cancer during the coronavirus pandemic requires enormous efforts and resources, calling for redirecting the world’s attention to cancer.
The conference, organised by Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute, at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre, and the King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC), is aimed at bolstering cooperation and sharing strategic plans to fight cancer, especially amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
The conference witnessed the participation of 400 doctors, nurses, researchers, NGOs and decision makers.
