The Minister of Water and Irrigation, Mutassim Saedan, said the recent rainfall has strengthened the water reserve of the Kingdom's 14 main dams by an additional 16.5million cubic metres (mcm) until Saturday morning, raising their storage to 134.4mcm, at a storage rate of 40% of the total storage capacity of 336.4mcm.
The last precipitation raised the overall rain that the country received since the start of the wet season to 30.3 per cent of Jordan’s long-term annual average rainfall of 8.1 billion cm, the minister pointed out.
