Jordan records 10 Covid-19 fatalities, 1,280 new cases on Wednesday
The Ministry of Health announced 10 Covid-19 fatalities and 1, 280 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 4,344 and the caseload to 330, 474.
The new infections comprised 795 cases in the capital, Amman, 155 in Irbid, including 25 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 116 in Balqa, 45 in Zarqa, 42 in Mafraq, 26 in Karak, 26 in Jerash, 24 in Ajloun, 22 in Madaba, 15 in Aqaba, 13 in Tafileh, and 1 in Ma'an , according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 69, while 54 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.
According to the brief, the total number of recoveries recorded Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 776, bringing the total to 317,218 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 409, including 52 on ventilators.
The statement also indicated that the number of confirmed and suspected cases on ICU beds has reached 109, or 12% of the total ICU bed capacity.
With regard to testing, 22,315 tests were conducted Wednesday, 5.74 percent of which were positive.
Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 3,936,085, the joint statement noted.
