Feasibility studies updated for national railway project
The Ministry of Transport has updated the financial and economic feasibility studies for the first phase of the national railway network project.
The project will be connecting the Kingdom’s southern governorate of Aqaba, passing through Ma'an, with the land port to be inaugurated in the Madouneh area, east of Amman.
A statement by the ministry on Thursday said that recent studies showed the economic and financial viability of the project, as it will pile up Jordan's competitiveness in export, transit trade and other economic activities.
'The railway network will also increase the efficiency and flexibility of the economy by integrating the various modes of transport,' it added.
