Four milestones of bus rapid transit project completed
Four main components of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project, including the main station in Swelieh, have been completed while all infrastructure works will be completed by mid-February this year, according to Yousef Shawarbeh, mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM).
Shawarbeh told a press conference Saturday that GAM is aiming to put the project into operation by the end of this year, stressing that the BRT is an 'urban addition' to the capital and will provide an integrated service along its 25-km route.
In addition to the main passenger station in Swelieh, Shawarbeh indicated that three main components of the project have also been completed, including the Jordan Museum Station in Ras al-Ain, the Sports City Intersection and the works on the Queen Rania Street.
During the press conference attended by Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the mayor announced the launch of 16 new electronic services, bringing GAM's service digitization project to a completion ratio of 93 percent.
He noted that another 9 digital services will be announced by mid-February.
