Senate developing action plan to address economic sectors’ woes
The Senate is working on a comprehensive action strategy in consultation with the government to translate the content of the Speech from the Throne into reality, Upper House President Faisal Fayez said.
Heading a meeting with committee chairs of the Senate and the Jamaat Amman (Amman Group for Future Dialogues) think tank, Fayez said that the meeting aimed at reaching an agreement on solutions to address shortcomings and difficulties facing the economic sectors.
The president highlighted the importance of addressing shortcomings in the sectors of energy, agriculture, labour, transportation, health and housing, among others.
Founder and president of Jamaat Amman, Bilal Tal, highlighted the hardships of economic sectors due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the policies and decisions of successive governments.
