Media, health ministers and pandemic czar are only source of COVID news
State Minister for Media Affairs Ali al-Ayed said that he himself, the Minister of Health and the official in charge of the COVID-19 are the only authorized persons to make statements or announce measures related to the pandemic.
Al-Ayed, who is also the government's spokesman, stressed that any other statements issued by experts or specialists only express their personal opinions and not the opinion of the government. He explained that the announcement of any decisions or actions will be issued by the three officials.
The minister explained that the government is open to the media and is keen to ensure information flow with full transparency and clarity, whether through direct communication or regular press conferences.
He called on the media to obtain information from competent officials, whether related to COVID or other issues.
