Lower House of Parliament Speaker MP Abdel Moneim Odat Monday received Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, who congratulated him on his election as head of the legislature.
The premier and the Lower House chief pledged cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities according to the constitution 'in a manner that reflects the royal directives included in the speech from the throne.'
Odat said that the House extends its arm to the other authorities to achieve the national interest, noting the royal directives stated that the way out of the difficult and exceptional circumstances is through cooperation that takes into account the health and safety of citizens and the protection of the national economy.
The Prime Minister said that the government is keen on close cooperation with the Lower House, adding that 'we are all in the same boat with one goal and interest,' reiterating cooperation among the state's authorities to serve the national interest and the aspirations of the people.
Jordan, he said, can face up to the challenges and turn them into opportunities, noting that the Kingdom is a country of institutions and will forge ahead with national plans and programmes.
