Oxfam launches protection of vulnerable women website
The Jordan office of Oxfam International has launched a new website dedicated to linking vulnerable women with protection services and empower them to understand local laws as they relate to women and girls.
In a statement Monday, Oxfam said the http://www.m3aki.com/ platform, the first of its kind in Jordan, serves as a consolidated repository of information and resources allowing women to better understand the law and help them easily access services in their communities.
The global nonprofit group also indicated that the website can redirect assistance seekers to the Amali App which provides services to survivors of gender-based and sexual violence as well as those subjected to physical and emotional abuse.
'This small site which may look insignificant can bring much-needed information and resources to countless women, workers, friends and family members who are at risk or exposed to violence in Jordan and make it within their reach,' said Oxfam Country Director Nivedita Monga.
