Minister of Interior, Samir Mubaideen, gave governors instructions not to accept interventions or mediations (Wasta) of any person, regardless of his title or position, on bailing any outlaws, those with criminal records, and racketeers except with his personal consent.
In a communique addressed to governors on Sunday, the minister said that this matter is up to him personally, even if the competent security council recommends the release of any of these detainees.
Mubaideen indicated that the governor is legally, administratively and morally responsible for violating any of these directives.
